You’re in a do-or-die situation and a man asks you if you would prefer to look more attractive to the opposite sex or to learn a cool tip to ramp up your squats?
Love can come and go, however lifting will be there for ever.
Yeah I hear ya’! Live sometimes stays for life; what will you choose?
A life of perfect squats or a life with someone you love that you can share it with?
Well, what if I said you could have them both by picking the best answer.
The Tie In Between Sex Appeal And Squats
If you lined up 10 people in a room that all had beautiful bodies and all were quite attractive, what trait would stand out, all else being equal, that would make the one who does it much more attractive?
This same thing, when done, can flatten your stomach a bit more, accentuate your chest and project a sense of confidence, even if you didn’t fully feel that way?
If you guessed ‘Stood upright’ you would be correct.
Stand in front of a mirror relaxed and then try to stander “proper” fully erect and astute, and you will notice your stomach look leaner(as it’s not curling from poor posture).
If you do this in daily life, say as part of a 10 person auction where you hope to be selected, this would instantly have you stand-out in world of huncher over’ers….I know, it’s not a phrase, but we can make it one if we all use it ;).
How Does This Affect How I Squat?
While I have not seen it mentioned anywhere but here and in my videos, a person who can perform a perfect squat keeps the barbell in a straight line.
I would encourage you to look around when you next watch a squat to see if this very challenging skill is in place.
It’s an elite practice that requires a tremendous amount of core strength.
Now, assume you have just taken the bar off the rack and you are ready to squat. I’m, there to coach you and all is looking awesome as your set and braced.
There’s one problem though, your bar, as you are standing upright, is not in line with your heels!
How can this be? You haven’t even done a squat; you’re just standing there about to descend.
If you are standing there and your barbell has shifted forward, your chest is collapsed to some extent (poor posture coming form your middle back).
If this is the case, you are doomed to botch your squat as your chest will most likely crumple a bit more on your way down.
But this is the least of your problems as your back is unable to absorb the load properly.
So How Do I Fix This?
There are a few ways to fix this, one which is a drill I am going to show you in this video.
Don’t forget, this fix will also make you more attractive (confident through posture) and make your abs leaner and flatter.
They will be leaner because near the end of this video, you’re going to see a note that if you click on, will take you to the exact drill you’ll use to get stronger and more firm abs, while you strengthen and loosen your back.
That drill is squat specific and requires 3 simple steps.
Here’s the video for you:
Master these and you will be takin’ your lifts, and your body to the next level!
